The World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC) Mauritius continued its exciting 2026 qualifying season on 22 August 2026, as Ladies and Senior Men golfers gathered at the spectacular Tamarina Golf Club for a special day of championship golf.

The dedicated Ladies & Senior Qualifier provided eligible amateur golfers with another valuable opportunity to compete within the WAGC Mauritius pathway and earn their place in the National Final, while enjoying the outstanding setting, competitive atmosphere, and camaraderie that make the WAGC experience unique.

A Special Championship at Tamarina Golf Club

Tamarina Golf Club once again provided a stunning stage for competitive golf, challenging players with its scenic surroundings, strategic fairways, and demanding greens.

Played over 18 holes of Individual Stroke Play under the official Rules of Golf, the tournament brought together Ladies aged 18 and above and Senior Men aged 50 and above, competing within their respective WAGC handicap divisions.

Every shot mattered as players tested their accuracy, consistency, and course management while competing for qualification places at the WAGC Mauritius National Final.

The event also highlighted the strength and diversity of Mauritius’ amateur golf community, creating an opportunity for Ladies and Senior Men golfers to compete in a dedicated championship environment.

Celebrating Outstanding Performances

The Tamarina Ladies & Senior Qualifier delivered a strong day of competition, with impressive performances across both categories.

Anne Laurence Daron claimed the Ladies Overall Winner title with an excellent score of 71 points, while Yann Ng Yum Loong secured the Senior Men Overall Winner title with 66 points.

Their performances reflected the competitive spirit of the event and earned them a well-deserved place among the leading qualifiers progressing towards the WAGC Mauritius National Final.

The tournament also saw closely contested division battles, with golfers competing right through to the final holes for their opportunity to advance.

More Than Just Competition

Beyond the scores and qualification places, the Tamarina Ladies & Senior Qualifier was a celebration of golf, friendship, and community.

From the opening tee shots through to the final putts, participants enjoyed a professionally organised tournament while sharing the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie that lies at the heart of the WAGC Mauritius experience.

The dedicated format also provided Ladies and Senior Men golfers with an additional opportunity to compete for a place on the national stage, further supporting the continued development and inclusivity of amateur golf in Mauritius.

The Tamarina Ladies & Senior Qualifier has added another memorable chapter to the 2026 WAGC Mauritius season, with players now one step closer to competing on the national stage.

The National Final will bring together qualified golfers from across the Mauritius qualifying series, all competing for the honour of becoming WAGC Mauritius National Champions and earning the opportunity to represent Mauritius at the international WAGC World Final.
